Flax is a blue flowering plant that grows mainly in Western Canada and is rich for its oil seeds. Flax seed oil is the richest plant-derived Omega-3 fatty acids. These essential Omega-3 fatty acids are required for the health of almost all body system and yet it couldn't be produced by the body. Besides being the best source of Omega-3 fatty acids, flax seed oil is also a good source of Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids.
Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are vital to regulate heart rate, blood pressure, blood clotting, fertility, and play an important role in immune functions and deficiencies of fatty acids may link to serious health conditions such as heart attacks, cancer, stroke, diabetes, obesity, etc. Sufficient EFAs must be obtained through daily diet in order to prevent EFAs deficiency. EFAs are needed by the body to produce prostaglandin which is important for all body hormone production,ie: Testosterone level.

What is Prostaglandin?
The body takes fatty acids from Omega 3 and Omega 6 and transform them into powerful substances called prostaglandins.

When something needs to be done the body will take some fatty acids, turn them into prostaglandins and get the job done. i.e. movements of calcium and other substances and out of cells, dilation and contraction, inhibition and promotion of blood clotting, regulation of secretions including digestive juices and hormones, control of fertility, and sexual relationships. As such, our body requires a good balance of omega 3 and omega 6 so that it can use prostaglandins to fine tune the work that needs to be done.
